MJ always stepped it up a notch against Clyde Drexler since Portland passed on MJ in the draft because of him. Hitting 10 of his first 11 shots, MJ won the battle but Clyde’s 42pts neutralized MJ’s 52 to win the war – this time. Other than MJ, sadly, the rest of the Bulls didn’t show up and their 20 point deficit was just a tad too much for MJ to outdo on his own – this time….
With a near broken ankle from the last game and rookie Shaq clogging the lanes, MJ just resorted to his midrange mastery for yet another normal day at the office. A few easy jumpers didn’t drop for a stretch which ruined his FG down to 45% here. But, the point is, MJ had already perfected the turnaround fade for a long time to get his 35+ even if you took away his legs….
